Urban Agriculture is the Answer to Urban Resilience

Toronto has an ever-growing urban agriculture community and as a result, many urban agriculture projects crop up each year! In a recent CBC article, some of these projects and the benefits they provide are detailed. From stormwater management to community cohesion, urban agriculture can help meet a number of the cities important goals related to climate change and poverty.

Recently, the City of Mississauga announced a survey to gather feedback on creating an urban agriculture strategy to help the city adapt to climate change and increase well-being.

In 2012, the Toronto Food Policy Council helped author the GrowTO report which outlined steps the city could take to scale up urban agriculture through a variety of programs and policies.
