Support Indigenous Food Sovereignty with NishDish

May 20th, 2020

After three years, NishDish, an indigenous cafe and marketeria, is closing its Bloor St. storefront.

TFPC Member, Chef Johl Whiteduck Ringuette, started NishDish as a catering company 15 years ago and has since become a well-known voice for Indigenous Food Sovereignty.

With many large events and restaurants not being able to operate, NishDish was hit hard by COVID19. Now in a period of transition, NishDish is looking for the community’s support so that they can continue to be a venue for cultural reclamation, celebration, and vital education about Indigenous Food Sovereignty.

NishDish has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover costs during the pandemic and as they transition. https://www.gofundme.com/f/nishdish-contingency?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=p_cp%20share-sheet
