Waste Reduction Community Grants

November 28th, 2019

Toronto Community Waste Reduction Grants are accepting Expression of Interest (EOI) until March 9, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

The City of Toronto is offering grants of up to $25,000 to support community-based efforts in reducing residential waste and increasing participation in the City of Toronto’s waste diversion programs.

Food-related projects are encouraged to apply. The recent Avoidable Crisis of Food Waste Report by Second Harvest found that 58% of food produced in Canada (35.5 million metric tonnes) is lost and wasted annually. 32% (11.2 million metric tonnes) of this amount is avoidable — edible food that could be redirected to support people in our communities.
