Wayne Roberts Tribute by Michal Stein

April 19th, 2021

Wayne Roberts was a food security activist and food policy thought-leader. He was the manager of the Toronto Food Policy Council from 2000 – 2010 where he led the TFPC to many successes including the adoption of the Toronto Food Charter. He was also instrumental in the creation of the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council.

Wayne sadly passed away after a battle with cancer in late January 2021. In a recent tribute, written by Michal Stein, Wayne is remembered for being a “radical happyist”, for his eagerness to make the world a better place and his dedication to supporting youth involved in the food movement.

Wayne will be remembered by many and his legacy lives on in all of us working towards a more just and sustainable food system.
